Nawazuddin Siddiqui and his family

It wasn’t easy to make it in the Bollywood Film industry and he knows this from the start, but nothing stops him from chasing his dreams. Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Popularly known as Ganesh Gaitonde(Sacred Games) was born 19 May1974 in Budhana, Uttar Pradesh. He used to stay in a village where getting proper education is quite hard. He is born in a Muslim family. He is having a total of 07 brothers including Ayazuddin Siddiqui, Shamas Nawab Siddiqui (filmmaker), 5 more brothers, and he having two sisters Syama Tamshi Siddiqui (died on Dec 2019 due to breast cancer ), 1 more. He is the eldest son of his family. His Late father Nawabuddin Siddiqui was a farmer and his mother's name is Mehroonisa. He married Anjali Kishor Pandey (aka Aaliya) and they having one son, Yaani, and one daughter Shora.

Education

In his childhood duration, he worked with his father on the farm and at the same time, he completed his education under the lamp. He completed his school from B. S. S. Inter College Budhana, Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Gurukul Kangri Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar, and worked for a while in a petrochemical company as a chemist. While moving to Delhi for searching for a new job he watches a play where he instantly attracted and realize that this is the platform where he belongs too and joins The National School of Drama (NSD), New Delhi in 1996. Since there was not enough money in theatres, he worked as a watchman for the subsistence for around 5 years.

Struggle

After completing his education from the National School of Drama (NSD), he shifted to Mumbai to pursue his dreams and enter the struggling part where he was ready to face that point since he already knows that it is not easy to get the fame. Nawazuddin Siddiqui hardly has money to pay rent and get fewer roles at the starting of his career. One of his NSD (National School of Drama) senior helps him to stay in his home on one condition if he was ready to cook a meal for him.

Popularly known as Ganesh Gaitonde, Nawazuddin Siddiqui made his Bollywood movie debut in 1999, with a small role in Aamir Khan starer, Sarfarosh. After that, he started to get stereotypical roles, where he shared screen along with Sunil Dutt and Sanjay Dutt in Munnabhai MBBS as a pickpocket role in 2003. Later he appeared in few other small roles. His appearance in Anurag Kashyap's Black Friday (2004) paved the way for other powerful roles. He got the first recognition as an actor in Aamir Khan Productions' Peepli Live (2010) of his role as a journalist. In 2012, he appeared in Prashant Bhargava's Patang: The Kite (2012) movie which premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival and the Tribeca Film Festival, for which Nawazuddin's performance was praised by film critic Roger Ebert, a role which transformed his acting style. He appeared in Kahaani (2012), where he played the exemplary short-tempered intelligence officer Khan. Gangster epic movie Gangs of Wasseypur followed which furthered his fame in Anurag Kashyap Movie. In 2015, Siddiqui's films Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Manjhi - The Mountain Man released, where he was praised for his roles. From some of the dialogues to funny memes, his character of Ganesh Gaitonde is one of the top popular characters in his whole career, not only among Indian audiences but also globally in web TV series Sacred Games. He started out as a chemist, then watchman, junior artist and now, he is a well-known face in India. From a poor background to a rejected actor to a lead actor to National Film Award Winner, Nawazuddin Siddiqui's story is a true rag to riches one.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is going to work next in the movies Bole Chudiyan (2020), Phobia 2 (2020), Farzi (2020), The Music Teacher (2020), The Maya Tape (2020) and Roam Rome Mein (2021). In Bole Chudiyan Nawazuddin working with Tamannaah. Bole Chudiyan is inspired by true events. Phobia 2 is the sequel of the Radhika Apte 2016 movie Phobia. Phobia 2 is a horror suspense movie based on human disease. In Farzi Nawazuddin going to working with Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon. Farzi is a thriller movie, in which Nawazuddin playing the role of a police investigator, who going to investigate big theft case.  The Music Teacher is the drama movie that has Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Ragini Khanna as a lead role. The Maya Tape is the horror thriller movie, in which he Nawazuddin working with Vishakha Singh Roam Rome Mein is the drama movie that has Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Tannishtha Chatterjee as a lead role.
