Om Shivpuri (born on 14 July 1936 in Patiala, Punjab, British India) Indian Actor, Producer, and Director. Om Shivpuri is born in a Hindu Brahmin Kashmiri family. He is mainly known for his villain and supporting roles in several movies. Om Shivpuri started his career in Jalandhar Radio Station. Om Shivpuri completed his acting graduation studies at the National School of Drama, New Delhi. Later Om Shivpuri became the 1st chief of the National School of Drama Repertory Company (1964), New Delhi, and one of its Bollywood actors; he later founded an important theatre group of its era, in New Delhi: "Dishantar". He married Indian actress Sudha Shivpuri. Sudha is mainly known for her work in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi (2000–2008). Om Shivpuri and Sudha had one daughter Ritu Shivpuri and Vineet Shivpuri. Ritu Shivpuri is an actress who worked in several film and TV shows. Vineet Shivpuri is an Assistant director. Om Shivpuri made his Bollywood debut with Ashadh Ka Ek Din (1971). Aakhri Sanghursh (1997) was his last acted film. Om Shivpuri worked in more than 175+ movies. Rajasthan Sangeet Natak Akademi organizes a drama festival every year, in memory of Bollywood actor Om Shivpuri. The Om Shivpuri Memorial Drama Festival is a 05-day festival that opens on Sixteenth October (Om Shivpuri's death anniversary).
