Ravi Teja was born as Bhupatiraju Ravi Shankar Raju on 26 January 1968 in Jaggampeta, Andhra Pradesh, India. Ravi Teja is referred to as "Mass Raja aka Mass Maharaja" by his fans. Ravi Teja is worked in several successful Telugu films. He also worked in some Kannada films. He made his debut in Telugu with Karthavyam in 1990 in a minor role. He made his debut as solo lead role with Nee Kosam in 1999. He made his debut in Kannada with Abhimanyu (1990). He worked as a playback singer for "Kajalu Chellivaa" from Balupu (2013), "Notanki Notanki" from Power (2014), "Raja The Great" from Raja the Great (2017), and "Rum Pum Bum" from Disco Raja (2020). He made a cameo appearance in movies such as Katha Screenplay Darsakatvam Appalaraju (2011). He worked as a special appearance in movies such as Shankar Dada Zindabad (2007), Romeo (2014), Dongaata (2015), and Vajrakaya (2015). He worked as a narrator in movies such as Doosukeltha (2013). He gave his voice to the movies Maryada Ramanna (2010) and Awe (2018). He is mainly known for his work in Kshemamga Velli Labhamga Randi (2000), Tirumala Tirupati Venkatesa (2000), Sakutumba Saparivaara Sametam (2000), Annayya (2000), Itlu Sravani Subramanyam (2001), Aunu Valliddaru Ishta Paddaru! (2002), Idiot (2002), Khadgam (2002), Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi (2003), Dongodu (2003), Venky (2004), Bhadra (2005), Vikramarkudu (2006), Dubai Seenu (2007), Krishna (2008), Kick (2009), Don Seenu (2010), Mirapakay (2011), Balupu (2013), Raja The Great (2017), and Krack (2021). He completed his school studies at N.S.M. Public School, Vijayawada, India and completed his college studies at Siddhartha Degree College, Vijayawada, India. He is a Bachelor of Arts qualified. He got Nandi Special Jury Award for Nee Kosam (1999), Nandi Special Jury Award for Khadgam (2002), Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Telugu for Kick (2009), and Nandi Award for Best Actor for Neninthe (2010). He was also nominated for several other awards.
Ravi Teja married Kalyani in 2000. Ravi Teja and Kalyani have one daughter Mokshadha Bhupatiraju and one son Mahadhan Bhupatiraju. Ravi Teja is the son of the Raj Gopal Raju and Rajya Lakshmi Bhupatiraju. He has two brothers late actor Bharath Raju and actor Raghu Raju. He is next going to work in Ravanasura (2022), Waltair Veerayya (2023), Dhamaka (2023), Tiger Nageswara Rao (2023), Mega 154 (2023), and Gatta Kusthi (2023).
